Pop Press at Bird in Borrowed Feathers market
Started just last year by the talented creative collective, consisting of Hannah, Georgia and Rhea, this was their third event so far. The event was very well organised and also well publicised using a mixture of social media and good old-fashioned sign boards and leafleting in the street.
All the stallholders had been asked to do mini interviews before the event, which featured on the BIBF blog, so everyone could get to know about each other a bit before meeting.
We were in one of the smaller rooms in the sub-basement, but despite having no natural light, the room was beautifully lit and tastefully decorated helping our work look good.
We were sharing with Jodie Patterson of Paper Pipit – designer of classy stationery, Laura Jane Williams of Stone & Armour with her exotic necklace designs, Emily Wiles – Knit Me a Stitch, who makes elegant organic ceramic vessels in porcelain and Lufalo Collective – a super cool illustration collective from Loughborough with global links.
We didn’t get round to talking to all of the talented folk, but we did say hi to Nottingham’s own Dawn Feeney, Miss Nova (aka Sarah Wardle) and Wild Goose Designs (Sarah Sewell), as well as visitors Handmade at Home (Siobhan Fitt Stirling) from Norwich, Little Paper Vee (aka Victoria Wright) from London, The Owlery (aka Ben Partridge) from Sheffield and Damon Smith and Chloe Hall (both from Codswallop Collective, Leicester).
Hope all the stallholders had a great weekend and made some money in the process. Thanks to Hannah, Georgia and Rhea for making it happen.
